Ministry is our community service.
Ministry is our community service.
It all started in 2009. As she matriculated through two seminaries, God was preparing Dr. Sylinda Porterfield Jamison for the ministerial journey that would manifest itself in a season when the spirit of uncertainty was forever present for the female genre. God gave her the blueprint of an infrastructure for a mentoring ministry for young adult and adult women. The goal of this ministry was to defeat the stereotypical mindset of women, especially women of color. From her thesis topic, “From the Auction Blocks to the Table Tops: A ministry to save young girls of color.” She vowed to embrace, encourage, educate, equip, and empower these beautiful, intellectual, and graceful creations.
After two failed attempts to implement this divine assignment under other avenues, God made it known to Dr. Jamison that this ministry was not designed to undergird another vision/ministry. This ministry was to stand alone and to be a pillar of light for those women that are walking in darkness.
In search for guidance and understanding, Dr. Jamison found herself in a prostrate position in front of the throne of God. In June 2022, God reminded Dr. Jamison through a dream of the infrastructure He gave her in 2010. In this dream God allowed her to glimpse into her future and provide clarity of the divine assignment ahead. Through this process, God placed a penetrating zeal in her spirit of righteousness and perseverance for this new unique but familiar journey ahead.
On a mission to continue to focus on building the Kingdom of God one woman at a time, she shared her ideas with two strong women of God that she had grown to love and respect, Sharon Rhone and Godilean Powell.
Through obedience on October 1, 2010, Dr. Jamison initially registered the ministry as a nonprofit organization with the Secretary of State of South Carolina under the name of Infinity International Outreach Ministries; however God instructed her not to do anything with it. When the time was right to act, she would know.
As instructed by God on August 9, 2022, the name was changed to Epsilon Nu Psi Sorority, Inc. (ENP) with the South Carolina Secretary of State and the journey begun. These three women became founders (CEO, COO, CFO) of the ministry and Elder Matthew Jamison, Pastor of Solid Rock Worship Center COGIC would provide spiritual covering. God gave specific instructions: pray without ceasing, move in silence and membership was by invitation only.
God conveyed several things to Dr. Jamison: to remain focused on the vision, purpose, and goal; a visionary leadership begins with the vision, don’t worry if your followers don’t always follow; sacrifice is required. He reminded her that He would never leave her nor forsake her. God also instructed open communication between the Founders is vital and necessary for the longevity of the ministry.
Though Isaiah 43:18 – 19 is the ministry scripture, God wanted the Founders to always keep I Chronicles 4:10 at the forefront of their minds; “Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.”
